Eleuthera, Bahamas

Founded by the creators of Make Them Sailors, Eleuthera Sailing Academy is located on the crystal-clear waters of Savannah Sound. More than a sailing school, it’s a community hub where local and expat children learn to sail, windsurf, and wingfoil together. On this beautiful Bahamian island, ESA is building skills, confidence, and unity—showing how the sea can bring people and communities closer.

TODO

VIENTO

San Juan, Argentina

Founded in 2012, Todoviento is bringing watersports into the community of Rodeo — a town beside a dam known worldwide for kitesurfing and windsurfing. While athletes from around the globe flock there, local children had little access to the water. Todoviento’s mission is to change that by giving every child the chance to learn sailing and watersports, fostering pride, opportunity, and a lasting nautical culture in their community.

With just a few Optimists, they are already building community, teaching life skills, and creating opportunities. Their mission is clear: make sailing inclusive, equitable, and transformative for every child on the island.

San Luis,

Argentina

Founded in May 2025 at Club Náutico y Pesca La Florida, this sailing school is the first of its kind in the province. Led by sailor Federico Tessio, the school introduces children ages 7–15 to sailing, teaching values of teamwork, respect, and responsibility. With over 20 families engaged and only three Optimist boats, the program relies on community support to grow. Its mission is to build a lasting nautical culture in San Luis and open the water to new generations.

San Isidro, Argentina

Capitanes de Barrio brings sailing directly into vulnerable neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, giving children their first chance to connect with the river. At Capitanes, we seek to generate a profound change in the reality of these children through sports, education in values, competition, and integration. By combining Optimist sailing with community support, the program transforms the river into a place of opportunity and belonging.
